Wake County school bus, vehicle collide on Highway 42

Witnesses say a school bus went through a red light and led to a crash in southern Wake County Tuesday afternoon.

It happened on N.C. Highway 42 around 3:37 p.m.

Troopers said a school bus from Holly Grove Middle School went through a red light and was hit by a car at the intersection of Kennebec Road.

The bus driver, 59-year-old Ann Holiday, of Garner, complained of minor injuries. One child complained of neck pain.

The car driver's was not transported to the hospital.

Holiday has been charged with a stoplight violation.
