Fayetteville police are searching for the person who stabbed a man to death.

Police say they discovered 67-year-old Richard Jackson's body at a house in the 6400 block of Starbrook Drive Friday morning.

Investigators say the body was badly decomposed.

Police went to the home after someone reported they had not seen Jackson in more than a week.

Authorities are now searching for a 2010 Nissan Sentra with the license plate CDY-4430, which they believe could be connected to the case.

Anyone with information concerning the homicide investigation or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Detective M. Hardin with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-8477.
