It happened around 1 a.m. at a home in the 3800 block of E. Shepard Street, near Raeford Road.

When officials arrived at the house, they found 59-year-old Delton Ray Jones severely injured and took him to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators arrested 53-year-old Cynthia Marsh Donovan and charged her with second-degree murder.
She was being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
