Man who shot trooper gets more jail time

GREENSBORO, N.C.

A federal judge in Greensboro Friday sentenced Mikel Edward Brady II to at least 40 years on a federal gun conviction.

Last February, Brady opened fire on Trooper Michael Potts following a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 70 at Cheek Road in Durham.

Potts returned to work earlier this month.

Brady has already been sentenced to 24 years for attempted murder.
