The Raleigh Police Department has charged a 17-year-old Fuquay-Varina girl with promoting the prostitution of a minor.

According to an arrest warrant, Shakirah Octetree got a room at a Capital Boulevard hotel and took pictures of the minor which she then posted in advertisements on a website, which police said is known to be used for prostitution.

Police said it happened four times.

Octetree also allegedly gave the minor condoms.

Octetree's mother described her daughter to ABC11 as troubled, and said she has run away several times.

Bond for Octetree was set at $50,000. She faces six-and-a-half years in prison if convicted.
