Man charged with breaking baby's ribs

RALEIGH

An arrest warrant obtained by ABC11 alleges 33-year-old Craig Mitchell Sopo, of Hatherleigh Court in Raleigh, broke and fractured the ribs of his then 8-week-old son.

It allegedly happened between Jan. 23 - 27. However, the abuse wasn't reported until last month.

The baby was hospitalized at WakeMed, and has since been released.

According to Sopo's LinkedIn page, he is listed as the vice president of underwriting and portfolio management at PNC Financial Services.

A PNC spokesperson says they cannot confirm the Sopo works there or comment on personal matters.

Sopo posted a $100,000 bond Wednesday afternoon. His next court date is at the end of the month.
