It happened Wednesday just before 3:50 p.m. in the 3300 block of Rosehill Road.

Police said 39-year-old Wendell Thomas was sitting in a red Dodge when two men approached his vehicle and shot him in the shoulder.
Thomas was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. His injuries were not considered life threatening.
Police say 22-year-old Rashaun Markel White has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injury, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and felonious conspiracy. He is still at large.
White is also associated with multiple addresses in Harnett County, where he also has pending warrants for his arrest. Authorities say White should be considered armed and dangerous.
Investigators do not believe the crime was a random act of violence and are continuing to investigate the shooting.
