Police have description of Durham rape suspect

A man apparently walked into home and assaulted a woman Thursday morning near Rochelle Street.

The Durham Police Department is investigating a rape in the area of Rochelle Street.

It happened just after 9 a.m. Thursday.

Detectives said their preliminary investigation shows a man walked into a house and assaulted a woman. The suspect appears to have been a stranger. It's not known how the man got inside the house.

The suspect was described as a black male, possibly in his early 20s and approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall with a small build. He was wearing light-colored blue jeans, a black sweatshirt and a black ball cap.

Police are investigating but they're not saying much about the case.
