FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville Police are investigating a blood trail that ran through a downtown parking deck and surrounding streets. Surveillance video shows an injured person walked into the deck in the early Tuesday morning hours.
A maintenance man discovered the blood Tuesday morning. Fayetteville Police responded to the scene before 10:30 a.m. A police spokesman said the trail originated on Franklin Street. The blood also ran from the fifth floor of the PWC parking deck, down the staircases and along Donaldson and Russell Streets.
Surveillance video later showed activity between midnight and 3 a.m. A young man is seen walking from Franklin St. to the top floor of the deck. He met with a group of people for several hours, and then left.
Prior to the surveillance review, the front entrance to the deck and some staircases was roped off with crime scene tape for about half an hour Tuesday morning.
