RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The Downtown Raleigh Alliance said Thursday that its president David Diaz is leaving.

He's been chosen to be the new president of Tysons Partnership in Fairfax County, Virginia.

"For the past 10 years, living and working in Raleigh has been such a rewarding and special experience. It has been a great honor to serve as the President and CEO of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance. We have transformed Raleigh's downtown from a declining area into a social, economic, and cultural hotspot," said Diaz.

Jon Wilson, Chairman of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance Board, said the group will continue the work Diaz has done.

"David leaves DRA well-positioned to capitalize on the momentum of the revitalization of the downtown area and enhancing the quality of life and its economic success," he offered.
