RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The ABC11 I-Team wants you to know about a way to potentially cash in on a multi-million dollar settlement from Sirius XM radio.

North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper said Sirius XM has agreed to pay nearly $4 million to North Carolina, and more than 40 other states.

The settlement is the result of a lawsuit alleging the satellite radio company charged extra fees and made it tough to cancel a contract.

If you had issues, and were a customer at any time since July 2008, you can file a complaint and possibly get a refund.

You need to submit a form by May to be considered.

North Carolina consumers can file complaints with Cooper's Consumer Protection Division online at www.ncdoj.gov or call 1-877-5-NO-SCAM toll-free within the state.

Consumers can file a complaint directly with Sirius XM at a www.siriusxm.com/settlementprogram or by mail at P.O. Box 33059, Detroit, MI 48232-5059.
