3-year-old taken to WakeMed after being hit by vehicle in Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A 3-year-old boy has been taken to WakeMed for treatment after being hit by a car in the 2800 block of Henslowe Drive in Raleigh, according to police.

It happened just before 5 p.m. in the neighborhood off of Lake Wheeler Road.

The child has been identified as Miguel Angel Lopez Lugo. Police say he darted out into the street from in front of a parked car.

Police said 25-year-old Lauren Canjar was driving under the speed limit when she struck Lugo.

It is unclear how severely the child was injured, and if Canjar will face charges.
