Hope Mills man charged with sexually abusing girl

HOPE MILLS (WTVD) -- A Hope Mills man was arrested by the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Friday and charged with first-degree statutory sexual offense and indecent liberties with a child.

Oliver Bragg, 42, is being held in the Cumberland County Jail on a $100,000 secured bond.

The investigation began in April. The minor told authorities that she had been forced to engage in inappropriate sexual activity.

Follow-up interviews with the girl uncovered additional details about the offenses and detectives took Bragg into custody.
