RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A Wake County man is accused of downloading child pornography and then sending it to an undercover detective.
Eric Martin Pepke of Garner is charged with sexual exploitation of minors.
According to arrest warrants, he viewed at least 12 images of child pornography and sent those images to a Cary police detective.
That detective is often the source of such arrests since he is assigned to find and identify child sexual predators. He often communicates with men on the internet who don't realize he is a detective.
In this case, the information was given to Garner police who served the warrants on the 53-year-old Pepke.
The Garner apartments where Pepke lives house a lot of children.
Friday, parents there told ABC11 they would talk to their children to make sure they aren't victims and to remind them about "stranger danger."
Pepke was in jail under a $2,000,000 bail.
