Child struck, killed by car in Person County

PERSON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A toddler was struck and killed by a car Wednesday evening in Person County.

It happened around 7 p.m. on Friendship Crossing at Dirgie Mine Road near Allensville, which is east of Roxboro.

Authorities said one-year-old Julian Washington managed to push out a window screen, and get out of a window before walking down a driveway and into the street.

Washington died on the scene.

No charges have been filed against the driver that hit the child.
