One badly injured in violent head-on collision in Clayton

CLAYTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- Clayton police are investigating a violent head-on crash that happened on Sunday.

Police said it happened on O'Neill Street in Downtown Clayton.

Officers told our crew on the scene it appeared a SUV crossed the center line and never hit the brakes.

One person was rushed to the hospital.

O'Neill Street was closed for nearly an hour while police investigated the scene.

It is unknown if any charges will be filed.
