DURHAM, North Carolina (WTVD) -- The Durham Rescue Mission is celebrating its 37th year providing food, clothing, and toys for the community.
kids and parents enjoyed a Christmas meal. They received donated pieces of clothing and toys and played games.
The mission cooked 125 turkeys.
There was even a special raffle for 17 popular, expensive toys valued at $20.00 up to $400.00, for children in attendance:

People we spoke to say they are thankful for the celebration.
"It's a really special thing for kids to have," said Treveon Scott.
"It means a lot to the kids because some parents aren't able to provide." Said Kathy Dingle who is here to collect toys for dozens of children in her community.
Durham Rescue Mission says they now need your help to keep events like this going.
They are facing a $200,000 shortfall with the expansion their mission.
They are asking for a tax deductible donation.
