Carolina Hot Tub Repair owner sentenced to jail
There's been an update to an ABC11 I-Team investigation involving the owner of a Triangle hot tub company.

PITTSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- There's been an update to an ABC11 I-Team investigation involving the owner of a Triangle hot tub company.

During a jury trial in Chatham County, Gordon Charles Smith was found guilty of obtaining property under false pretenses and failing to doing work after being paid.

Last year, in ABC11 Troubleshooter reports, we warned you about Smith. Several viewers complained that they paid Smith hundreds of dollars for hot tub repairs, only to be out their money and no repair.

Smith owns Carolina Hot Tub Repair, and once we got involved, he did refund some viewers, but others told us they didn't get their money back.

In court, a judge sentenced Smith to 14 - 26 months behind bars, and Smith still faces additional charges in other counties.
