Police surrounded a motel Wednesday.

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham police surrounded a local motel in pursuit of a murder suspect off Guess Road and Interstate 85 in north Durham.

The incident started before noon on Wednesday at the Carolina Duke Inn.

An armored truck and several law enforcement officials were at the scene. Video showed officers using a grenade launcher. It wasn't clear if it was tear gas canisters or so-called "flash bang" grenades.

The Durham County Sheriff's Office told ABC11 they were looking for 20-year-old Donovan Amire Bright in connection to the murder of Dymond Fowler and shooting of Alexis Patterson on Aug. 24. So far, five other people have been arrested in connection to the crime.

Deputies said Bright was not found at the Carolina Duke Inn, but items left at the scene let officials know he has been there.

The scene has since been cleared.

Anyone with any information on the location of Donovan Bright should contact the Durham County Sheriff's Office at (919) 560-0900.
