Durham Police: Stray bullet strikes woman in home
Durham police are investigating after they say a woman was hit by a stray bullet in her home.

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Durham police are investigating after a woman was hit by a stray bullet in her home.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday on Eva Street.

A spokesperson with Durham police said a 42-year-old woman, who has not been named, was shot in the back while she was inside her home. She was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.

Witnesses on the scene told police that several men were out in the street shooting, when one of the bullets ended up going into a home and hitting the woman inside.

There were said to be several bullet holes in her home and two unoccupied vehicles were also damaged by bullets.

So far, no charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.
