Group challenges NC lawmakers to teach for a day

FAYETTEVILLE -- A group in Fayetteville put out a challenge to the same lawmakers who are trying to hammer out a state budget.

The North Carolina Association for Teacher Assistants is among several groups asking them to consider "Being a T.A. for a Day."

They want legislators to consider keeping funding for 8,500 teaching assistant positions.

Organizers of Sunday's event in Cross Creek Park say legislators should find out just what it is T.A.s do for students and teachers.
