Son charged in deaths of Fayetteville parents

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- The Fayetteville Police Department has charged a son with killing his parents in Fayetteville.

Detectives say 32-year-old John Oalton Miles Jr. shot Delilah Harris Miles, 62, and John Oalton Miles, 66, in their home in the 6300 block of Cool Shade Drive in the Cottonade subdivision.

The younger Miles is charged with first-degree murder and robbery. After the murders, Miles fled to the Miami area where he was arrested Thursday.

He's also charged with taking a vehicle from his parents' home.

He's now awaiting extradition from Florida.
