Dispute over mowing leads to Fayetteville shooting

Police: Dad shoots son over yard work
Police are investigating a shooting in Fayetteville they say happened because of yard work

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WTVD) -- Police say a man was shot Monday afternoon in a domestic dispute.



It happened around 12:20 p.m. in the 4500 block of Turquoise Road.



Police identified the 20-year-old victim as Winston Adams. He was listed in fair condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.



Adam's stepfather, 62-year-old Wibert Lawrence Faison, allegedly shot his stepson in an argument over mowing.



Faison is being held as the Cumberland County Detention Center for Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, where he remains under a $100,000 secured bond.
