It happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found 30-year-old McKinley Summers in a vehicle with a gunshot wound.
He was rushed to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in critical condition, where he died from his injuries.
Cliffdale Road is currently closed between Skibo Road and Lynhurst Drive as we investigate a shooting.

The Fayetteville/Cumberland County Crimestoppers program is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
