Police: Brothers arrested in connection with Fayetteville double-murder

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Authorities in Fayetteville have arrested two brothers in connection with an apartment shooting that left two people dead Sunday.

Kenneth Shaw, 28, and Amos Shaw, 26, were arrested late Tuesday night and have been charged with first-degree murder, according to Fayetteville police.

Early Sunday morning, officers were sent to the 1200 block of Southwood Drive, in the Southwood Apartment Complex about the shooting.

When they arrived, they found 29-year-old Derrick McClain and 27-year-old Derrick Robinson dead from apparent gunshot wounds in front of an apartment.

Kenneth Shaw and another man, 27-year-old Darrell Hinton, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities said Shaw had been shot during the incident.

He and Amos Shaw are currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.

Meanwhile, detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and say additional charges may be forthcoming.

Authorities are also investigating another shooting at the Southwood Apartment Complex that happened overnight Wednesday. Police have not said if the incidents are related.
