FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Authorities in Fayetteville have found and arrested the person who allegedly robbed an elderly woman while she was on her way to church Wednesday evening.

Around 7:20 p.m., police said, a man approached 89-year-old Lila Harrison near Ramsey and Moore streets and asked her for directions.

Officials said as Harrison was telling the man how to get to his destination, he grabbed her purse which was still on her shoulder, causing her to fall to the ground injuring her lip and shoulder.

Detectives were later able to identify the suspect as 42-year-old Edward Schwab by using images from surveillance cameras in the police department's Crime Information Center, which matched a description of the suspect given to police shortly after the incident happened.
