Must-See Videos: Massive apartment fire
Yankees announcer was one of many left homeless by NJ blaze

MASSIVE FIRE

The Mayor of Edgewater, New Jersey, has declared a local state of emergency following a huge apartment fire that forced hundreds of people from their homes.

The homeless included New York Yankees announcer John Sterling.

Firefighters battling the blaze Wednesday afternoon were hampered by winds and frigid temperatures and smoke could be seen from New York City across the Hudson River.

There've been no reports of injuries.

GAS PLANT EXPLOSION

We're also getting a look at new video from a gas plant explosion in Texas. It sent flames and fireballs shooting into the air for hours Tuesday night.

The fire eventually burned itself out. There's no word on what started the blaze, and no one was hurt.

CAT STUCK IN PIPE

Some firefighters in Miami spent much of Tuesday trying to rescue a cat that had been stuck in a pipe for days.

They were eventually able to flush the cat out of the pipe, all the while keeping track of him with small cameras that they fed underground.

The cat was taken to an animal clinic and is doing well, and the staff there has named him "Piper."

HUGE SNOWMAN

A 30-foot-tall snowman is greeting residents and visitors in a small town in Wisconsin.

It's an annual tradition in Minocqua. That is except last year when - because of weather and several other factors - the snowman wasn't built and people were very disappointed.

This year when snow began to fall the Minocqua chamber of commerce got busy, and the snowman took a week to build.

His name is "Snowmy Kromer".
