Following brief pursuit, Raleigh Police catch 2 purse snatching suspects

RALEIGH -- Two people refused to stop for Raleigh Police Friday afternoon following a suspected purse snatching off New Hope Church Road.

Around 1 p.m., a detective witnessed two suspects commit the crime.

The suspects jumped into a car and police attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver refused to stop.

The driver stopped the car and the suspects ran out into a neighborhood off Hardimont Street.

Police were able to capture one suspect right away, and later caught the second following a brief search of the area.

Police are still investigating.
