Fans line up for new Durham Krispy Kreme

DURHAM (WTVD) -- The opening of Durham's first Krispy Kreme location on Hillsborough Road drew a large crowd who started camping out Monday and lined up before dawn Tuesday for the grand opening.

The first 100 customers who registered and were in line outside the store got a dozen free donuts a month for a year.

The first person in line got one free dozen "Original Glazed" doughnuts every week for a year.

Commemorative grand opening T-shirts were also handed out.

Krispy Kreme started in Winston-Salem in 1937 and now has more than 100 stores.
