PHOTOS: Football camps open in the Triangle

DURHAM (WTVD) -- College football camps opened around the Triangle last weekend.

Expectations are high at NC State as the Wolfpack return numerous players who played last season.
Players to watch: Jaylen Samuels on offense, who'll lineup anywhere and should see plenty of touches on offense.

Bradley Chubb on the defensive line. The whole defensive line returns and should be one of the best in the ACC.

Duke Head Coach David Cutcliffe got up at 3:40 a.m. Monday morning for their first practice. He was ready. Will the team be as ready as the coach?

Player to watch: QB Daniel Jones. If Jones can improve on last year's play, the Blue Devils could be bowling again.

North Carolina Central opened practice Tuesday morning and it was almost 90 degrees.

That doesn't bother the Eagles who are coming off a Celebration Bowl appearance.
Unit to watch: The Defense. The Eagles return eight starters and could be better than they were last year.

UNC opened practice Wednesday morning in Kenan Stadium. The practice fields are under construction for the next year.

The offense will be under construction as well. No Mitch Trubisky. He's a Chicago Bear now. One of six QB's are competing for the starting spot. Nathan Elliot is one who has some experience, and Brandon Harris, transfer from LSU, are top contenders as camp opens.

Player to watch: Austin Proehl wide receiver. Should see a bunch of opportunities come his way. He's one of the experienced players on offense.

Games are still a month away as we head into another exciting season of college football in the Triangle.
