Goldsboro man fatally shot
A Goldsboro man was fatally shot Friday evening.

GOLDSBORO (WTVD) -- A man who was assaulting his wife was fatally shot Friday night, Goldsboro police said.

Officers responded to a shooting call about 6 p.m. in the 400 block of Benton Street. When they arrived, they found Sudon Williams, 28, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Williams was rushed to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Officers said Williams was engaged in domestic violence when he was shot, but did not offer further details.

The shooting is still under investigation.
