FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Church leaders and health professionals in Fayetteville gathered for the 7th Annual Cancer Awareness Benefit Concert Friday night.

The event, held at New Life Bible Church, was themed "You Don't Know My Story," and featured a Cancer Awareness Mass Choir along with several area talent.

ABC11's Nicole Carr served as co-emcee, alongside Margaret Alexander, the Chief Nursing Officer at Harnett Health Center. Dr. Janine Scott of the Fayetteville VA Center offered important information on detecting and dealing with Breast Cancer. The program honored survivors, fighters, people who have lost their battle to any type of cancer and those who refuse to give up hope.

The event was founded by Minister Sandra Farmer, a two time breast cancer survivor, along with Otis Alston and cancer survivor Tekelar Gillis.
