DURHAM (WTVD) -- Duke engineering students put their skills to work to help children with physical and mental challenges.

"Project Tadpole" is a biomedical engineering student organization that hosted a Toy Modification Workshop on Saturday.

They filed down toys at Grey Stone Baptist Church from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to make them safer for children with special needs.

In addition to modifying the toys, they also ran clinics on how parents can make the toys at home.
