Laser used to treat gum disease

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A Raleigh dentist is touting the benefits of a newer way to treat gum disease.

Signs of gum disease include bleeding when you brush or floss, loose teeth, and bad breath.

Failure to treat it can lead to tooth loss and bacterial infections that can even cause heart problems.

As ABC11's Caitlin Knute explains the procedure is a laser that causes patients less pain.
