Motorcyclist killed on I-40 in Wake County

WAKE COUNTY (WTVD) -- The Highway Patrol says a motorcyclist slammed into the back of a pickup on Interstate 40 near Airport Boulevard in Wake County on Tuesday night.

The biker, 43-year-old Luc Bell of Durham was killed.

Troopers said speed was a factor.

There were no indications that alcohol was a factor. Bell was wearing a helmet.

No charges will be filed against the pickup driver. He was not injured but his vehicle sustained damage.
