2 cats killed in Fayetteville house fire, owners safe

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Fayetteville fire crews are trying to determine the cause of a house fire that took the lives of two cats.

The fire broke out at a house in the 4500 block of Cumberland Road before 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Firefighters said the occupants of home made it out safely; however, their two cats were not as lucky.

The Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the residents.
