Suspect punches himself repeatedly to make it look like police abuse

JAILHOUSE BRAWL OF ONE

Police in Lane County, Oregon have released jail cell video of a man punching himself in the face in an attempt to fake police brutality.

He claimed detectives beat him up, but the video proved that untrue.

When confronted with the video, the man admitted the lie and said he did it to get out of jail.

He's pleaded guilty to filing a false report.

SNOW LEAPERS

Boston residents overwhelmed by massive snowfalls the last month have been recording videos of themselves jumping out of windows and into snowbanks, and Mayor Marty Walsh wants them to cut it out.

Walsh chastised thrill-seekers who've been filming themselves performing the frosty feat and then posting the videos on social media websites.

Walsh says, "It's a foolish thing to do, and you could kill yourself."

He says Boston "isn't Loon Mountain," a New Hampshire ski resort. He said Monday the stunts are dangerous as city workers struggle to clear snow-clogged streets and deal with snowbanks 10 feet high.

SNOW TUNNEL

On Prince Edward Island in Canada, a man with a bad case of cabin fever decided to dig his way to freedom.

He'd been trapped in his home by the massive amount of snow outside. Digging a tunnel to the nearest street took 6 hours.

PREGNANT SWORD SWALLOWER

A professional sword swallower in Grand Prairie, Texas is not giving up her job because she's 9-months pregnant.

Veronica Hernandez says it's all in the posture. She says she is using a shorter, less-sharp, sword these days to protect her unborn son and she's put fire eating on hold until the baby is born.
