Man stabbed multiple times during alleged armed robbery in Johnston County

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Johnston County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to an armed robbery and stabbing on Saturday evening.

Officials said it happened at Jimmy's Gas Mart in the 3300 block of US-70 Business West, across from the Johnston County Airport in Clayton around 6 p.m.

Deputies on the scene said an ambulance who had stopped at the store called in the stabbing. It is unclear if a person or the business was robbed.

Johnston County EMS transported the male victim to WakeMed. Witnesses said he had multiple stab wounds to his back.

It is unknown if there's a suspect. The victim's identity and condition have not been released.
