DURHAM (WTVD) -- Lightning is being blamed for an early Thursday morning apartment fire in south Durham.
Firefighters were called to the apartment complex in the 5700 block of Windlestraw Drive around 5:15 a.m. after a resident called 911 to say lightning made a 2-foot hole in their wall.
When fire crews arrived, smoke was seen coming from the side of the building.
No injuries were reported, but the building did suffer serious damage.
