Man killed by hit-and-run driver in Johnston County

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A driver hit and killed a man in Johnston County on Thursday.

It happened on Earpsboro Road near Highway 39 around 8:00 p.m.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Rigoberto Valencia Talavera, 48, was leaving a nearby store when he was hit.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a silver passenger car with front left quarter damage. The car left the scene traveling north on Highway 39 toward Wake County.
