Man, woman killed in Durham crash

DURHAM, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Authorities in Durham are investigating a crash that killed two people early Monday morning.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 5500 block of N. Roxboro Street.

Police say the crash involved a single vehicle - a red Jeep that was a rental from Enterprise.

The two people, a man and a woman, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said there was a fire after the wreck. They also said the woman was driving, while the man was in the passenger seat.

It is unclear what caused the crash at this time. An investigation is ongoing.

One northbound lane of N. Roxboro Street is open, but drivers headed south must detour at Northern High School to Milton Drive, then back on to Roxboro Street.
