McDonald's employee shot in Durham
It happened just after 5 a.m.

DURHAM, North Carolina (WTVD) -- The Durham Police Department is investigating after a McDonald's employee was shot in the leg as he arrived to open the restaurant.

It happened around 5:20 a.m. Monday at the Triangle Square Shopping Center on Highway 55 south of I-40.

Pictures from the scene showed EMS workers bandaging the man's leg before rolling him on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance.

Police were investigating the possibility it was an attempted robbery. There was no immediate word on suspects.
