Saving on summer movies
A little planning can help you save big at the movies

If you are one of the millions of people who love to spend the hot days of summer taking in the latest big-budget movie, but you don't want to blow the budget on tickets, we found a few ways to help you save.

Other than matinees, buying tickets in advance through sites like giftcardgranny.com can stretch your dollar. We found AMC Gift Cards going for up to 21 percent off and Regal Cinemas for up to 18 percent off.

Buying in bulk is another way to save. Warehouses like Costco.com and BJ's Warehouse offer savings on tickets purchased in bulk.

There's also many theaters offering summer movie deals for kids for just $1.

And, multiple cities are showing free movies including Durham and Chapel Hill.
