CARTHAGE, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Moore County School Board now has a quorum.
At a special meeting Wednesday, a new school board member was appointed, and another member, who is a familiar face in the community, was sworn in.
Pam Thompson, a former school board member from 2006-2010, was sworn in again Wednesday night. She replaces one of the four former board members who resigned after voting to fire Superintendent Dr. Bob Grimesey, who was later reinstated after a huge public outcry.
Board members also nominated and approved Helena Wallen-Miller as a new member. They also discussed the selection process for whittling down 50 applicants for the remaining open seats.
Meanwhile, Grimesey said as far as he is concerned it's forgive, forget, and move on.
"It's too many people in the world who waste time and energy on resentment and second thoughts, or worry about the past," said Grimesey. "We were busy before all this happened. So we have lost a week's worth of work. So now we are extra busy making up for what we missed plus what we do this time of the year."
Wallen-Miller will be sworn-in Monday night. After that, the board gets back to doing its business.
There is no word on when any new members will be selected and sworn in.
