Man seriously injured in Raleigh motorcycle accident

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A motorcyclist was seriously injured Thursday evening in Raleigh after colliding with another vehicle.

It happened about 6:45 p.m. at North New Hope Road and Corporation Parkway.

Authorities said 23-year-old Rossano Charles Gardner was going south on New Hope Road on his 2006 Honda motorcycle when he collided with a 2011 Kia sedan that was going north.

Gardner sustained serious injuries and was taken to WakeMed in unknown condition. The driver of the Kia, 62-year-old Johnny Gregory Melton, was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time, according to authorities.
