CLOVIS, New Mexico (WTVD) -- A New Mexico sheriff's deputy got his car stolen by a naked man on the Fourth of July.
Officers were alerted to the man walking nude in the middle of the road near Clovis and a deputy's body camera shows what happened next.
At one point, the man sits down near the road, but then as the deputy motioned for other cars to pass, the bare-bottomed man got up and tried to flag down a car - which of course kept going.
He's later seen leaning on the deputy's car as he claims he's been poisoned. Then, he just jumps in the deputy's car and takes off.
The deputy calls for help. Then, the suspect is heard over the deputy's radio saying he was going to a hospital because he was poisoned.
He was taken into custody at the hospital as he ran for the door.
