RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh mayor Nancy McFarlane files for re-election Thursday morning.
She filed just before noon at the Wake County Board of Elections in Raleigh.
She is seeking her third term as mayor and was first elected in 2011.
"It has been an honor serving as Raleigh's Mayor these past four years," McFarlane said in a statement. "Everyday I'm inspired by the passion and love our citizens have for our great city. We did not become the best place to live and work in America by accident. It took vision and leadership from our entire community, and I'm grateful for the trust citizens have placed in me to continue that tradition."
