RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Another North Carolina State Fair is in the history books and this year's attendance is stacking up better than it has in years past.

Fair officials says the stretch of beautiful fall weather brought more people out to the fairgrounds.

Attendance was up every day by about 10 percent, fair officials said. On the first two days of the fair, the record was broken.

"It's been a wonderful run. We really can't complain about it," said NC State Fair spokesperson Brian Long. "If we hold the pace we've been on, we should have one million attendance for the third time in the fair's history so that's pretty encouraging. That's been our highest attendance since 2011."

More than 80,000 people came out on Sunday for the last day of the fair. It's usually one of the busiest.

"I should have came last week 'cause I'm having a good time," said fairgoer Lester Martinez.

"I'm here with my family and we're having fun," said another attendee Sheila Melvin.
