1 killed in Southern Pines house fire

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (WTVD) -- One person was killed in a house fire in Moore County Friday night.

It happened around 8 p.m. in the 800 block of West New Hampshire Avenue in Southern Pines.

Fire officials say Hattie Dancy, 74, died after flames broke out in her kitchen oven.

Investigators say smoke detectors were present in the house.
