Sheriff: No charges filed after pit bull attacked child

KENLY, NC (WTVD) -- The Johnston County Sheriff's Office announced on Tuesday that no charges will be filed against the adult who was supervising when a pit bull attacked a 1-year-old child.

It happened on October 13 in the 400 block of Old Pebble Lane east of Smithfield. A parent opened the door and the pit bull ran inside and bit the child on the head.

The mother said she tried to pull the dog off the child and the animal turned on her.

The dog was euthanized the same night of the incident.
